| Alright guys, here’s my situation. I have a Bushmaster A2 upper and lower with a Krieger pre-ban barrel. My next step is floating barrel system and a front sight and gas block. I want to use the weapon for CMP shooting, so what parts and pieces do I need to complete the piece and be CMP legal? Any recommendations as to specific components and manufacturers would be appreciated. |

Service rifle FF tube and that should do, as long as it is A2. Edit for a Welcome to the Site.

Either the White Oak or RRA float tube at ADCO is a good deal. As for the front sights, I believe you're required to use a front sight post that has a standard A-2 profile. (here is a link to the rules on the CMP website: LINK ) The rules were changed a few years ago to allow flattops with carry handles but I believe the front sight post must be an A-2 type (look at page 21, subparagraph 12 of the rules). Does your barrel have flats milled on it to allow the use of a front sight base that has set screws? If not, you may have to have an A2 base pinned on or you can have the folks at White Oak mill flats and install a windage adjustable front site base. (here's the difference: LINK) |
