| Does anyone use an acog on a vltor casv? What kind of mount? |
|
Google (couple on first page).
There are really only a few mounts for ACOGs and it really doesn't matter which one you use as there aren't issues such as co-witness. I would recommend the LaRue LT-100 as that's what I have. The standard TA51 mount is pretty good, too. The type of ACOG you get might change your mounting options slightly. I'm referring to TA31 (4x32) series of ACOGs. |

Well Im asking because the casv is gonna add height to the top of the upper and if the mount is too high then I will not be able to have a nice cheek weld I get that. My point is that there are no real height differences for ACOG mounts (the A.R.M.S. mount looks like it may have a little height to it), so you won't be having any worries about the height due to mount––it will all come from the CAS-V. Having never used a CAS-V with my ACOG, I can't address the cheek-weld issue. |

IIRC ARMS makes a low mount for the ACOG...but the difference is maybe 1/4" or so. Probably not worth it.
In reality the ACOG can only so low due to the design. As much as I love my ACOGs and highly recommend them, in your situation maybe a different scope...or maybe adding a small cheekrest? |
