Hello, I'm new to the forum but have owned over the years several ARs, and currently own two bushmasters. I noticed that the v-comp that I picked up yesterday(new) may have a defect. On close examination I found that the barrel does not sit in the center of the handguard for some reason and is much closer to one side of the handguard than the other. Has anyone experienced this with their v-comp? Surely this can't be normal. I would appreciate any feedback on this before I take it back to the dealer. Thanks in advance. By the way this site is an invaluable asset for those that love the AR.

Call Bushmaster... Or you could take it back to the dealer and see if he will make it right.. If you end up sending it back to BM, have no fear.. They are the best by a long shot. Id call the dealer first, if no avail, call BM ask for cust.svc., and describe the prob. Theyll issue you what they call an RMA # ( return authorization # ), you then UPS the upper back to them, and you will be taken care of. As far as what is normal for a V comp, well, cant help you much on that one. But, there will be someone along shortly who can I am sure. I have sent back an upper or two for work, and have always felt I had nothing to worry about..

Keep us posted..
