replace that Mini-Y with a pahntom. Thats what I did, and the difference is phenomenal. It will go from fireball to nothing just like that....

The Phantom is ~ $25 from any number of the EE vendors, such as eaglefirearms.net or gtstactical.com
You can drill out the two pins in the mini-y (at 12 and 6), unscrew it, screw onm the Phantom and have it permananetly attached (blind pin and welded) to maintain legal length (just over 16" with the Phantom). |

I'm not sure what would win a loudness contest between the y-comp and the Armalite brake. Both are annoying.

I just got a bushmaster with a y-comp too. I didn't mind having the y-comp over the fh until i fired it. Rattled my teeth. Now i'm thinking of getting a fh.

I had two guys at the range the other day, on either side of me, both with 14.5" with Y-comps..and they were taking turns doing mag dumps. I thought my brain was going to bounce off the inside of my skull.

We used to shoot an indoor league with a guy, He shot an AR10, 14.5 or 16" with that brake. That sonofabitch would make your ears pop & heart stop. More than one of us would leave the range area when he shot.

I like the "Y"! Besides actually working as a compensator, It makes me feel like the round is bigger than what it is.
 All you have to do is get some MIL earplugs and not worry about your headphones. Tj |

My wife has one on her AR, and she refuses to replace it!
She calls it her "mini whine comp", from all the people that complain about it. It's all good though, when we go to the range I let her shoot first so I can get a bench next to her. On the other hand, all my fillings have fallen out. |
