Just recently purchased a used Bushy XM15E2S . I'ved fired about 100 rounds without any problems. Well, today, I was checking out some of the other mags. I didn't fire, I was just pulling the charging handle back and forth chanbering/ejecting unfired rounds. I was going from a moderate speed to quick cycles, but most of the rounds failed to chamber correctly. They were stuck before completely entering the chamber. Now this was with every mag including the one that fired correctly before. Extraction was not a problem. But every extracted round I checked had a fairly deep gouge in the lead. I was using Winchester white box and XM193. Do I have a problem, or was I being stupid and trying a function test that wouldn't work anyway; that is, chanbering/ejecting multiple unfired rounds. |
I think he said it cycled fine when actually firing, but had problems when cycled by hand. If the problem was reversed then maybe the key would be loose. If the weapon functions when actually fired, then I would not worry about it. And yes when I hand cycled rounds through, nose of the bullet gets cut or grooved by the barrel extension slots. Try locking the bolt to the rear, inserting a fresh mag with rounds and release the bolt.....that should fully chamber a round each and every time. If it does not, then you might have a problem. |

maybe riding the handle??/ i know if i do it mine wont load from the mag, but if i hit the bolt release its fine i guess i accidently do it all the time, whenever im at the range 1 our of 3 mags if i pull the charging handle instead of hitting the bolt release, it gets stuck, i just yank it back and left it slam again and the round goes in fine. |
| OK, I tried locking the bolt back and releasing it with the bolt release and it works fine every time. So, I'm guessing I'm alright. Now , about those bullets with the deeps grooves in them...can I shoot them, or will they damage the barrel? Thanks for the help! |
