I cant seem to get the mag release button on. Its a Noveske N4 lower and a PSA lower parts kit.

I put in the mag catch and spring. When I put on the button and start turning it only goes about half way before it hits the receiver and won't turn anymore. By halfway I mean the post is nowhere near flush with the button as soon in the tutorial guides and on my other lowers.

WTF? It the parts kit out of spec or am I doing something wrong?

Help Please.

1. Check that the parts will thread together properly off the receiver.

2. You have to "over-press" the button during install to clear the tab while you thread it it together.

Did you push the button and then (while holding it in really far) spin the post to level with button face?

The parts thread on out of the receiver really easy. Once installed I can get the button on and turn it about 2-3 revolutions before it hits the receiver and wont turn anymore. At this point the post is still not flush with the button as in the tutorial  in the thread above.

No I was spinning the button on the post not the post in the button. I guess that is what I was doing wrong?

You can use the eraser end of a pencil to depress the button further into the lower thus allowing you to be able to spin the other side of the mag release flush.

"over-press"
I thought that would explain it.

This is about the easiest thing to install in an AR build.
If you're right-handed, better have a pep rally with your left thumb and let it know that it's going into battle.

I did the same thing on my first build.  Sat and looked at it for a couple minutes before I figured out I was doing it backwards.
