Oh, BTW i want a gun that can be used in the precision role to some extent, and the carbine role as well I would also recommend get you some Magpul XTM covers they come in handy for spots on the rail you connect and disconnect accessories. You might also look at the Magpul AFG |

A lot of trick parts means a handsome amount of money for that carbine. Are you sure you would not be as well served with a more basic carbine and a couple cases of ammo for the same $$.
Your list is good parts, but 90% of the time an out of the box Colt or RRA (or other good brand) is going to get you there as well as a custom built poodle shooter. I have both types and sometimes a basic KISS carbine is the better tool (lighter, less do-dads to break and slow you down). If you can have only one AR15 then a flat-top with a few optic options and BUIS is hard to beat. If you have to actually carry it a couple miles or a couple weeks you will soon realize light weight is your friend. |
| I actually have some XTMs and an afg but i dont like the afg. The compromise grip with a stubby vert grip feels better to me. Also, i want to go all out on this upper because price is not a concern really asi bought $1200 worth of guitars for $300, and that will fund this upper (PM if interested). As for weight i can deal with a 10 lb gun. Lastly could i get an opinion on CHF barrels on their accuracy as compared to a SS barrel. I would love to have a chrome lined barrel but i really want that accuracy as well. |
