I remember seeing a mod for the buffer retaining pin that used a set screw to keep it in place. I have searched for it to no avail. Any help finding it would be appreciated.

I have never seen a set screw for the buffer retainer pin... do you mean the take down pin spring?

Doing this with the buffer retainer pin would be a real PITA and would require quite a bit of additional changes to do (or so I think) but if I am wrong I would love to see a link!

One guy mentioned he did it, but questions for pix and methods/materials went unanswered to the best of my knowledge.  There may have been follow up in a 2nd thread but I never saw one.

You're right I meant the take down pin spring. That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks

I tried this mod on one of my lowers recently and was amazed at the ease with which it worked out.  Just lube the tap well and don't rush.  Very professional addition, even if it is invisible!

My surplus arms and ammo lower (Aero Precision), came with the detent pin hole already threaded.
