Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Blank firing adapters

I know the yellow blank firing adapter (BFA) is supposed to be for 16" barrel carbines and the red BFA is supposed to be for rifle barrel lengths...

...my question is, is it possible to safely shoot blanks in a 16" barrel length with the red rifle BFA?  

The BFA's look the same in pictures except for their painted color???

I have fired blanks in a 16 and 14.5 inch barrel with a red BFA and no issues.

They work as long as it clamps on the flash hider.
