I have used Hoppes and Kleen Bore for a powder solvent - neither has impressed me.  Swab, bore brush 10 times, swab again and black comes out - repeat and repeat and repeat till I get really sick of it.  Anyone use something that really works well?

I use Sharp Shoot R Wipe Out as the copper solvent - that stuff works, I would like to find something as good for powder solvent.  Anyone have something that is the cats meow?

Their cleaning products are the very best. I had the same problem you had. Once I got the bore clean with their 725 degreaser/cleaner it was so much faster keeping it clean. I now average 3 or 4 brush 6 stroaks, patch, reapply 725, brush 6 stroaks. Then the patch will be white or very light gray after the 3rd or 4th brushing. Oil the bore with the Slip 2000 oil and it really keep fouling from sticking.

I have found no better products in my 20 years of cleaning guns.

I noticed the thread for the Slip 2000 Carbon Cutter and wondered if anyone used it for the bore or not.  SkagSig40, you are using the 725 Cleaner/Degreaser as a powder solvent?  Does it work better than the Carbon Cutter?

I use the 725 in the bore and action only. It gets rid of everything. I have not used it on corrosive ammo but I never shoot that crap eather. The carbon cutter/killer comes in a jar to soak parts like the bolt of a semi-auto or a choke tube in a shot gun. It work great! The 725 comes in a spray bottol so just squirt it down the bore and let it sit for 5 minutes on the 1st application they hit it with the bore brush. The 2nd app no need to wait just squirt and scrub....3 of those in a hand gun and you are done with white patches. Maybe a bit more in a rifel but not much.
The carbon cutter would probibly work as good but being that it comes in a jar it is harder to get into the bore unlike the spray bottle of the 725.

I forgot to mention that the 725 does not get copper out. After you get the powder and carbon fouling out with the 725 you need to get the copper out with a copper solvent and then you are done.

I use Slp 725 to clean my Garand, P17 and 03A3 after shooting corrosive ammo. It's the best stuff on the market.
