In anticipation of the AWB sunset (no comments on "it could stay in place" please) I would like to find out if there is away to thread your own barrel to accept a flash hider with bayo lug. Are there tools to do this your self? What do you need? Where would you get it? Websites would be great. Would it be easier or cheaper to send it off? Who does this type of work.

One more Question. Would I need a new front site to mount a bayo?

Thanks for the help.

Just mount it between centers on your lathe and it's a 5 minute job.  It's best just to tig weld on a new bayonet mount; the front sight and barrel is jigged, drilled, and reamed for the #3 taper pins as an assembly so you will never find another sight that will match perfectly.  If you don't have a lathe and a TIG and know how to use them, it's cheaper to just buy another barrel assy.

Im sure if and when the ban sunsets there will be many companys offering barrel threading and such for a reasonable cost. Russ
