Hello everyone , im a newbie here ! I just picked up another upper yesterday and i am having a little problem that has me stumped ! When i pull the bolt back to the rear and lock it , the charging handle has alot of resistance when pushing it forward ! I can charge it and let it go with no problem and put in a different BCG and no problems . Any help would be apprecieated ! Im gonna try to post pics of the two BCG'S , the one on top is the problem BCG !

When the charging handle pulls the carrier back, it does so on the front top ledge of the carrier in front of the key.
So depending on the height of the ledge, and the bottom tab of the charging handle from the slot retainers, there could be some binding going on for the distances until the CH lip clears the Carrier top ledge (would be binding all the way until it clears the ledge). Now if the binding is shorter than this distance, then it could be that the Key passage way of the CH is binding on the key instead. So, with just the CH and carrier in hand, take a reading of the distance that CH would need to clear the ledge, and the shorter distance of clearing the key. Now put everything back together and now check to see which distance that you have binding when pushing the CH back. Plus, if you just look at the parts, you should be able to see where the rubbing is happening anyway. As for a solution, work the charging handle since it's the cheaper of the parts. |
