Just now, I ran my reset screw out to .85. Works fine for the Atrius and get this, a different lower, trigger lever combo using the MARC....

I know for a fact .085 would not  work in the first lower, trigger, MARC combo I tried for 22lr, bolt would bind up hard.

Do you have a different trigger/hammer you can try? Maybe a different lower?

I did try a different hammer. (The AS designs rounded one for the full size MP5) same issue. Haven’t tried a different trigger tho.

K .. so ...

The quote may hold your answer.  I have both the adjustable trip and now the atrius trip.  The Atrius trip is NOT the same as the adj SS trip.  I'm not home to measure, but I know they don't compare dimensionally until the adjustable trip has the screw extended.

Since the MARC is reported to work with the adjustable screw turned in all the way - the Atrius trip is wrong for the MARC.

Have you ordered the adjustable SS trip yet?

I don't have the Atrius trip just the adjustable. I understand that Atrius trip is different now that JanJets gave the .85 measurement from end of trip (bolt contact surface) to reset surface. I think in his set up tolerance stacking makes this .85 to long and is causing the trigger to attempt reset before the hammer is ready binding up the works.

I was able to use the adjustable trip set to .85 for one lower, trigger, hammer, MARC lever combo, in different lower using a different trigger, hammer, MARC .85 was way to long, function stopped at .78... I can only assume tolerance stacking is responsible for this combo not working. That same .85 also works fine for my Atrius, then again so does the .763 measurement when the adjustable trip has it's screw all the way in allowing both sides of the trip to contact the bolt at the same time.

Unless I'm missing something, JanJets has 2 options. Either remove material from the Atrius trip bolt contact surfaces until reset without binding is achieved or order the adjustable SS trip.

Thanks for all the help guys! agreed on my 2 options. i put the upper on my other lower that also has a cornfire and works fine and got the exact same issue, like to the letter. So agreed i’m thinkin new trip it modifying this one. I just don’t know what new trip to get. the FRT one without the pocket and just the ledge in my mind would be ideal but could definitely be wrong about that. I’m tryin to get ahold of BB to see what they suggest and possibly exchange or something.

The FRT one is designed for Rare Breed, to trip the safety lever on the cassette. You want the Super Safety trip.

The MARC is a Super Safety.  This is the adjustable trip:

https://borebuddy.com/product/ss-trip-kit/

Never even thought of sending my adjustable SS trip back.  I had a SS that I never got 'round to tuning. I just grabbed the Atrius when BB offered it 'cause ... I'm married.

Everytime I touch a firearm, the wife thinks I'm spending money.  Dunno what I'll do if she finds out none of my "arms" take plastic like my phone does.

Anyway i could get ya to show me a picture of where i should remove material, if im understanding correctly on mine it would be shortening the side that on the adjustable trip has the adjustment screw.

From the Atrius trip, you would need to remove from right and left.  Basically, you are removing material to move the trip location closer to the bolt.  So, removal from both legs will be required.

Too much removal and you will brick your trip.  Remove material like you are bidding on The Price is Right - that is:  if you go over, you lose.

I'm pointing at one surface with the screwdriver blade. The other side where the screw is on my trip will also have to shaved on your trip.

I would make things simple and measure like this. Measure both sides of your trip, they should be equal or nearly so. You'll want to remove material evenly from each bolt contact surface of your trip. Removing the steel sled will make removing material from the aluminum trip easier.

I would go slow, maybe remove .010 and check function.Repeat until you get reset with zero binding. Hard to say where your measurement will end up being but likely close to .760-.770

I understand what I'm saying by using the overall trip lenght measurements to remove material but maybe this is not clear...

Measuring from the actual trip reset surface to each side of the bolt contact points is difficult due to the difference in height.

By using the overall trip length measurement you'll be able to measure how much material is removed from each side more accurately. Also, if the trip is not square ie one side is say .010 longer than the other you could remove that .010 first and check function.

I hope this makes sense...

Looking at my trip sled screw, it looks like it has some sort of clear thread locker. I would heat that screw a little before trying to remove it.

If you remove the trip sled make sure you heat that screw enough to break the thread locker bond!

With a steel screw, threaded into soft aluminum and an aggressive thread locker(i dont know what BB used) the aluminum threads can easily come out with the screw if you don't break the bond...

I'd torque that screw back with about 6 inch pounds, no more then 10 inch pounds!

Once you have function, a little purple 222 or blue 242 thread locker and again about 6 inch pounds of torque.

Thanks guys. got it to dry fire perfectly. brought bolt stop legs down to .178 but also had to bolt the sled differently than how it arrived to me as there was too much behind it to allow it to go further in battery. I did try this the other day and it still didn’t work so it appears the combination of removing some material and bolting the sled farther back on the pocket plate has solved it.

How it arrived to me

How it is now and passes dry fire function tests flawlessly

Nice! And we have yet another difference between the SS and Atrius trips...

On the SS trip the sled meets a ledge that would have to be removed to do what you did.
