I was wondering if you folks could help me out. I love the Ar and I want to purchase one to recreational shoot and to hunt with on occasion. I thought about going with the 7.62 X 39mm upper but some have told me these rounds are not good for an ar style rifle. I am not stuck on that caliber but I cannot afford an AR-10 and the availabilty of the X39 ammo is great. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

I just was unsure about the knockdown of the 223 if I took it to the woods.

I think I will probably order the 223 anyway. But I may research this hunting thing a little more and I may order another upper for it later on down the road. I hunt in the georgia swamps so knockdown is an issue. If you have to track the animal you may loose it.  I have killed deer with the 223 before so I know it can do it but my faith is limited. Thanks for the input guys.
