I'm looking to hear from persons using a Bill Springfield modified/polished USGI trigger in their AR.
How do you like it, and how does it compare to the original 7lb-ish pull/configuration the USGI trigger was originally in? Is it smoother? Does it basically just lighten the trigger pull or what? Just trying to decide if I should get Bill to do one of my 6920 USGI triggers? Any info appreciated. |

It is very crisp and breaks like a glass rod, trigger reset is also shortened. It is much smoother as well. You can go wrong for what he charges to do it. |

Usually he sends it back the day after he gets it. He took all the creep out of mine and it is much more smooth and crisp. I did the 4lb with the speed hammer, but for some reason it still seems somewhat heavy. Next time I will go with the 3lb trigger. |

Question for you guys who have used Bill, do you send the whole lower to him or just pull the trigger parts out and send those? he needs the trigger, hammer disconnector and all springs email him and make sure for your application and which mod you are getting done I have sent in about 10 of these to be done and he gets them back in a week, I always send them to him by priority mail. |

I am currently waiting for my first AR trigger from him (just ordered it complete/shipped), but I have had many friends say there is no person better than he. I would like to add, though I have not received mine back, I have shot theirs. Great triggers at a very fair price. The best part is when you call his business...you speak to him. That is impressive to be as well. |

I must be the odd man out. Or is it that a lot of you guys are sending in decent triggers to begin with (like an RRA NM trigger)? ..... and so he then turns around and makes them great?
I sent in a crappy, long and creepy DPMS trigger. Yes, he sent it back in a quick turn around time with a less gritty and vastly improved lower pull weight. But it's still "looong and creepy". So,if you send in something really piss poor (like an el-cheapo factory DPMS trigger) don't necessarilly expect a miracle in return. |

Their triggers are standard and are used by a vast number of smaller builders. Likely just a burr remains or it could be off. He's human. Have you called him about it? I have 2 of his triggers and just packed one to send to him today. He really is a good guy and for the money can't be beat. I do recommend the AK trigger job as well, makes you almost not feel dirty shooting it |

I sent Bill two Rock River two stage triggers last year. One came back that was now a single stage and the other would get stuck in the second stage unless you manually pushed it forward. Bill was very helpful on the phone and I sent them back. When returned the issue still existed. I decided to drop the issue and have went to other triggers. I found it unusual that I had an issue with both triggers but I really will not put that on Bill. Maybe there was just something about these two triggers. Enough people have been very satisfied that I probably would still recommend his service if one was looking in that direction |

Somethings no one can fix. You should have taled to him at least. Why did you send in the RRA 2 stage in the first place? 458 I did speak with Bill the first time there was an issue and he had me return them. When they came back and the issue still existed I simply chose to drop it. Both triggers did break very nice and were lighter but it was an issue of function. I sent the Rock Rivers to simply lighten them as others had also had good luck with Bill working on these triggers. |

Bill has been very responsive to my challenges so far, and I'm looking for help...not to criticize. Perhaps someone here can troubleshoot this and save both Bill and I more hassle...
I have tried 2 of his 4 lb triggers, both of which double on the reset when doing the safety check. This happened a few times with one lower separated from the upper, and both do it when doing the safety check with the upper installed. Specifically: after pulling the trigger and holding it back, cocking the hammer to reset, then––while easing the trigger forward to reset––the hammer falls WITHOUT pulling the trigger. Too weird that this would happen with separate triggers, on different lowers (Charles Daly and RRA). Help? |

Bill Springfield puts a little tack weld at the back of the trigger that is ground to the point where all the take up is gone so a single stage trigger is ready to break right at the beginning of pull, and he bends the hammer spring, at least that what I was able to detect on a 4lb trigger job he did for me. Maybe he grinds or polishes the sear engagement area - I don't know. I felt his experienced labor, the resulting performance, and great turn around customer service where well worth the price. |
