Is there enough play in the pivots to keep the feet in place during recoil? Example of play.  Or is it rigid enough for 5.56 to scoot during a magazine?

You don't think having it in the line of sight of the optic is a problem?

A low mount bipod with the legs at 45 or so degrees will work equally well without getting in the LOS.

No more than an Inforce WML at 12:00. Especially with a higher mag scope.

Zero interference with image through the scope.

OP: Yes. I've done a review on these as well as on the very similar Fortmeier.

https://ballisticxlr.com/2022/05/28/utg-over-bore-bipod/ and https://ballisticxlr.com/2022/08/06/fortmeier-phoenix-bipod/

Cliff's Notes: Both are quite nice and easily worth the price. UTG/Leapers won't sell spare mounts which is annoying. Fortmeier will sell spare mounts. Some questionable design decisions from UTG but nothing that affects functionality enough to be concerned about. Some questionable design decisions on the part of the makers of the Fortmeier (formerly called the "Phoenix" bipod) of which I saw fit to address two of them to get the capabilities they offer. I modified by Fortmeier with 45deg leg notches so the bipod could blade at 45 and disengage while fighting the massive adrenaline dump and increased the amount of cant angle it can deliver.

Low mount bipods don't let gravity help pull the cant out of your hold and they don't stop rifles falling over. Top mount helps resist rifle tipping and lets gravity help with avoiding cant.

No they do not, however, their higher end products are usually at least decently made even though they will almost uniformly implement something backwards or just plain wrong. In this case, the quality is fairly high. The design decisions / feature implementations expose a bit of typical China not grok 'merican goodies. All in all, I quite like this UTG part which is rare for me.

Decent timing. Thanks.

I have one. Used it on my .50BMG when I had that for a year or so.  Was great for that heavy thing.  Now I use it on another goofy gun that benefits from the oddness.

It’s decent.  Like half the price of other over bore options. Pan, Tilt, QD socket (it doesn’t fold up that compact so I just pull it), and you can adjust friction.

I probably wouldn’t go to war with it, but I’d FO again if I needed another.  I think it’s better than a VLTOR Modpod for a wide low bipod.

Yes. I love it.

It’s very well made, very convenient and stable.

It’s so well made I didn’t even realise UTG were Chinese.

Bipod arrived.

There's more leg play than I expected, but live fire will determine if there's enough. No occlusion of the TR24's FOV at 4x. The pivots appear to be pre-lubed, but the length adjustment needs oil and break-in. The push buttons for the pivots feel dry and the springs don't sound good. The buttons themselves seem too wide and thin for the shaft diameter, but pressing in the center feels okay.

The worst part at first glance is that tilting bumps into the BCM QRF's 3:00 and 9:00 rails. If I could mount it 1/8" forward, it would clear when not panned. Speaking of which, I may see about fixing the pan feature as this bipod is intended to be used for load testing and liminary zeros.

Finally got to try it. The factory feet slipped a little under load on dry winter grass, so a heavier gun or knobbier feet would be better. Extending the legs exaggerates the slight pivot play - the gun returns to battery nicely. Once natural point of aim was found, it is tits.

So I don't have to borrow and haul 30lbs of sandbags, or sling up for load testing or whatever.

First two shots low. Clicked. Next 3 were a smidge high and I noticed a trend a smidge left. Clicked. Natural point of aim settled left of target after recoil.

No.  Put a scope on a flat top, with a fsb, and at 6x you don't even know it's there.
