i guess you can never have too many rails

I am thinking that whatever you mounted on the rails on the right side would block the ejection port.........

ETA: You also lose the forward bolt assist and the dust cover........ with the number of other locations you could hang something off of an AR, I would not want to lose those two features.....

Actually, you know what that would be good for?  A professional-grade brass catcher.  Sometimes you just don't want to leave brass lying around.

No Forward Assist or brass deflector would keep me away from it...  Is that thing carbon fiber or aluminum?  The other comment about things mounted on the rail on the right side interfering with ejection is true as well.  The front portion is almost too small to mount anything to by itself, and the rear portion where the FA and brass deflector would be would get whammied with every shot I'd think.  That would be bad for anything sensitive like opticals or even a light.  Can't see it very well in that picture, but I'm not sure the rail on the left side wouldn't interfere with the bolt catch release, especially if something big was mounted on it.

Hmmm...  that idea actually has some merit, although I'm not sure you need that much rail on the right side just to mount a brass catcher...  I still wouldn't like the idea of not having a forward assist...

And  I'll bet the ads say (or will in a couple of months) something like; "Being successfully used against insurgents in Iraq"

Total and complete BS!

The pity of it is that some poor fool with more money than good sense will buy into this claptrap.

You are probably right on your first statement, especially if this thing is from Vulcan/Hesse...  after all, they are the weapon of choice for the special forces!

It's in the DPMS catalog.  Made of aluminum.  Advertised for 3-Gun.  Actually it's pretty cool & useful.  Now I have a place to mount my TCM (Tactical Cappuccino Maker)

a flattop and maybe a railed handguard is all you ever need. any extra rails that are on the reciever or that go past the gas block are no good and just add weight.

You know that picture of the AR that had everything mounted?  I bet you could get a few more things mounted with this thing.  Other than that I think it's a waste of a good lower to build a rifle with that thing.

That would be a good match for their 6 rail handguard and 4 rail gasblock.
