I've been using a T2 for 2-3 thousand rounds over the past 6 months or so and can understand why it's so highly recommended. Down pours, snow storms, sub zero temps, up to temps in the 90's and high humidity and I have not had one complaint until today. I have not babied this optic at all.

Shooting as the sun is going down I put the rifle down to load mags. When I pick it back up and shoulder there are 2 dots, one with streaky lines surrounding it. After fiddling with it for a couple minutes I notice it only occurred with the setting sun above my target, when I shift targets back to normal.

I managed to snap the below photo when I got home of the dot, mind you, the aim point is turned off in the below photo.

Is there an issue with my optic or is this just something I have not run across until today ?

There is not an issue.  All of my Aimpoints do this with the sun "just-so"  It is a reflection off the lens or mirror.

Someone more technical with their actual assembly will chime in.

This would be my guess as well.

All do that.  Aimpoint does it less than other offerings.

The fact you're just finding it today shows how few scenarios it could be an issue.

I have astigmatism and see five dots in my Aimpoints, so consider yourself lucky.

Install flash killers on BOTH sides of the optic.

Agreed on the rare chance that it become an issue but shit, as soon as I shouldered the gun I'm looking at 2 dots...disconcerting.

Other RDSs would be the same or worse. You've got the top RDS on the market. Keep shooting with it.
