Don't have the optic yet (will be here this week) but came across this and am curious if it's worth the coin to get one for protection or should the $$ be put to better use.

Thanks

I'd put the $ to better use, that is a flashlight mount, sling, or a VFG, pistol grip, rail panels...

That's kinda what I figured, I don't have anything on any other scope, I actually like the look of a AFG vs. the VFG but not sure plus I plan on adding a BAD ambi safety and ambi charging handle.

Aimpoint PRO already comes with lens covers.

I highly recommend it.  I have one on my FDE rifle and wish I had put a black one on my colt before my PRO got scratched up.

Aimpoints can take a beating, the rubber cover is not necessary. I only have one on my PRO because I found one for cheap, I guess it can help if you plan on selling the optic down the road and want to prevent scratches or dings on the body.

A little bit of extra protection never hurts. I have them on my Pros, and Tango Down covers on my Micros.

Its a good fit, nice and snug, doesn't move around. You have to be careful putting it on, start with the front lens then work your way back, if you try the back then the front you can snap the front ring.

Well I went ahead and ordered one, it was brought to my attention by my son that if I am spending $400 for an optic why not give it some additional protection by adding a $30 cover.

I normally install mine back to front, haven't had any problems snapping the front ring yet.
