Hello everyone. Well, I decided to purchase an Aimpoint ML2 for my Bushmaster as well as the Laure Tactical mount. The Aimpoint has arived, but I am still waiting for the mount (will take a few more weeks to make.) Anyhow I was wondering if I was going to see any difference in the accuracy of my M4 by adding this optic. I own a Beretta 96 Vertec and added an M6 to that, but the laser really didn't help me at all. However, on my rifles .22 and 17 HMR by adding a cheap recticule Tasco $40 scope, my accuracy improved greatly. See the pattern?

Redots just do not seem to improved how well I can shoot, and frankly on my pistol, I prefer the sights. I certainly hope this isn't the case with my Aimpoint as $360 on an optic is too much just for it to lie on my bedroom furniture. My buddy criticzed (sp?) my choice. He said that my groups are not going to get any better by switching to a Red Dot, and said my money would have been better spent on a ACOG or Leopold.

Basically I just want to know from owners out there that by adding the Aimpoint, did your groups tighten or did you just not see any difference at all? I know you need to be a good shot to begin with, but compared to the old fashioned crosshair, can the Aimpoint hold its own? Thanks for your time!

YOU'LL NEVER SEE A BENCHREST COMPETITOR USING AN AIMPOINT.

YOU'LL NEVER SEE A DOORKICKER SELECTING A MONSTER BENCHREST SCOPE AS HIS FIRST CHOICE.

AFTER HAVING WORKED AND WATCHED AT MID-SOUTH SHOOTING FOR SOME TIME, I AM CONFIDENT THAT A THE VAST MAJORITY OF SKILLED TACTICAL SHOOTERS CAN SHOOT FAR BETTER AND FASTER IN ALL LIGHT CONDITIONS WITH AN AIMPOINT ON AN M4 THAN WITH IRON SIGHTS ON AN M4. SITUATIONAL AWARENESS AND TARGET-TO-TARGET TRANSITION ARE ALSO GREATLY ENHANCED WITH THE AIMPOINT.

IF SMALL GROUPS ARE WHAT YOU'RE AFTER, THE AIMPOINT IS NOT THE SOLUTION, EVEN THOUGH IT IS SUPERIOR TO IRON SIGHTS ON AN M4. IF PUNCHING SMALLISH GROUPS ON A SQUARE RANGE IS YOUR GOAL, MAYBE YOU'D BE HAPPIER WITH SOME SORT OF MAGNIFICATION.

I like Wes's keyboard. If one listens, one may learn something. Even some of us oldler folks learn quite a bit from CAPS LOCK.
