Hey Guys,
After shooting my rife at 100yds, I can't get my rifle to group under 3". Not ok.
It honestly isn't me I handed the rifle off to a friend of mine who is a MUCH better and far more experienced shooter than myself. He got the same results.

The rifle is:

RRA LAR-15 lower
RRA LPK
RRA 6 M4 stock
FN carry handle
Stag Arms 2H upper (16" chrome lined 1/9 twist)
A2 Hider

Ammo:
55gr Hornady FMJ
Lake City Brass
21.7 gr of H335
CCI No. 400 Primers

Thanks Guys,
Bob

Seems normal to me especially since you are shooting iron sights. Even with the best ammo available, 3" at 100 yards is excellent shooting if you are just using iron sights on a M4rgery. Most of the time, the shooter is the weakest link, not the equipment.

What shooting position were you and your friend in? Bench, prone, standing?

How accurate is your powder measure?

3 shot groups, 5 shot...10 shot?  3shot groups aren't really to be trusted, imho.

Also, please give some ballistic data such as:  Wind, humidity, elevation.

55gr FMJ isn't exactly designed as a match round

3 inches at 100 with irons and 55fmj is about what I'd expect. now if you had a 20 inch with national match set up and were firing 77 grain black hills, you'd have a problem

buy a small scope with QD.. will tighten the group right up..

with my MBUS set I get about 2 1/2" wide by 3" high groups using a BAG front rest to support my hand holding the handguard..

with a scope you'll only get 2 moa out of a carbine chrome lined barrel. 3 moa is good for irons. and 4-5 moa is good if you're using a red dot. nothing wrong with the gun. but you should at least get 1 moa at 50 yards at the minimum

Frankly, 21.7 gr's of H335 is a fairly light load.  I get my best accuracy in 5.56 using 25.0 to 25.5 gr's of H335.  25.0 gr'd. seems to be the most popular choice with H335 because it is fairly close to what you'll get from factory ammo.  You might experiment some with some heavier loads than what you've been using.  It might be the ammo and not the rifle or the shooter.  Don't be surprised if the POI changes with different loads.

umm.. not true.

This is at 200 yards.. with 1/7 and 16" CL HF upper.. with the 6x32 cheap scope from a front BAG only..

I would say irons is 4-5" and with Red Dot is like 3-4".. at least thats what I get..

heres my 3MOA red dot on my old 1/9 DPMS upper from the same front BAG only..
