How much accuracy would one lose within 300 meters by using a 14.5" barrel instead of a 24" barrel with the same twist, load, etc.

Curious,

There won't be too much potential for accuracy loss but you will loose quite a bit of velocity.

Theoretically, one MIGHT see an accuracy degradation when going from a 24" match grade heavy or bull barrel to a rack grade 14.5" skinny barrel, but that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the length and everything to do with the "match grade" and to a lesser extent "heavy".

Given the same QUALITY of barrel, you won't lose accuracy, only velocity (as already mentioned).

Additional velocity equals better wind resistance downrange as well as flatter shooting projectile, but those could still be compensated for by someone who knows how their rifle shoots and how to compensate for those conditions.

Thanks for the insight guys!  I've heard barrel length would affect accuracy and that it wouldn't..
