I'm trying to export to Italy my MT6400C.

My request for the Export Authorisation issued by the State Dept. has been rejected 2 times now because they say "it is a military gun". I'm 100% sure that as soon as they read M4 Carbine, they think it's a real M4 and do not even read "..semi auto, muzzle break, no bayonet lug, low capacity magazine, already exported to my country......." I've also attached the original Colt's brochure that reports all of that, but no way, they reject my request.

Any suggestion? Thanks

Paolo

Post that question in the Virginia and the  Maryland/DC Hometown areas, we might have some State Department people as members (sorry all my friends work for the cool alphabet soup agencies).

We have members (Frens comes to mind) that live in Italy. How did they get theirs?

a person called De Marchi is the official importer of Colt's rifles here in Italy. but only few MT6400 get imported every year. that's wht they are so expensive (2600€ for a Colt MT6400).

Paolo is trying to import a rifle by himself because is a lot cheaper but it's also harder.

if he will be able to do this I will do the same for sure.

good luck my friend

See if you can track down James Bardwell on the internet.  He may be able to help you.
