I recently bought a DPMS upper flat top 24" barrel and a RRA lower. My question is that when I fire a round and the action cycles. The spent case neck has a flat spot in it is this normal. But  a round that doesn't cycle the neck is juct fine.

It happens with some rifles and is perfectly normal. The brass is bouncing off the shell deflector, being dented in the process.
