You post a lot in these frt threads. It also seems you have all the variants.  What, in your opinion, makes this the "best" frt?

Thanks.

The ability to use a Geissele trigger puts it in the top tier for me. Spraying bullets at garbage is fun, and I do it a lot, but I want my guns to be rifles first, bullet sprayers second. I'm a big time trigger snob. I also like that it's essentially two tiered; you can get a decent mil spec trigger pull for 250 bucks, and then later upgrade to a G$ when funds allow. It's been drop in functional in multiple of my builds, in multiple calibers. Reports on its durability are tremendous. It does not bump your trigger finger in semi mode.

All of these factors are what set it above the crowd, and I love the rest of the crowd too. But this is the trigger in my favorite guns. I've had 3 Rare Breeds. I gave one away for Christmas, and the other two are sitting in guns I rarely shoot. I have two Partisans, basically the same design. The first run selectors suck. One I haven't installed yet. One is working fine in my IAR gun. I cancelled my order for the third after a month of waiting. The Atrius selektors are nice with a Rave 140 trigger. That's probably my second favorite FRT setup. But with mil spec triggers, they can need grinding on the triggers to get them running and tuned. The Cornfires are a step up from the Atrius, but they're not necessarily drop in with Geissele triggers. I'm also just a little leery about the durability of the Atrius/Cornfire skinny lever. Arizona Regulators function great most of the time, but they're somewhat sensitive to your gun being in spec, and the trigger pull sucks.

The ARC-Fire is just the smoothest, most refined, most upgradeable FRT on the market today; and today it got even better.

Just my luck. I just bought an ARC-Fire version 1 two days ago. It hasn't even shipped yet.

Now I have to get a version two.

What do you have to do to use it with a geissele trigger?

You need a Geissele with a Super Safety cut, and a lever blocker. Both are available on this page:

https://activesafetydesigns.com/ar15/

I also recommend those upgraded mil spec selectors, though we will see what the V2 comes with.

AS Designs never has the pre cut G"s in stock.  Who cut yours? I've seen mention of mid tier defense but $70 seems kinda steep.

Deez nuts has the cut G's in stock, I assume they'd work with the arc fire too? But then I'd need to buy a whole nother trigger.

Thanks

V2. Interesting.
Other than the ability for 45 degree selector, I wonder what else has changed.

I'm still trying to figure out why changing to the milspec selectors has caused my once flawless arc fire to now be very unreliable.
I sent a message to them on their site last week, but have not gotten a reply as of yet.
It is just confusing to me, as literally nothing has changed other than the selectors.
The right side can not cause any issue at all, but the left side controls things, so I wonder if that could be the issue.

The V2 will have options for 45 90 AMBI, 45 180 AMBI, 90 180 AMBI and 90 180 NON AMBI all at launch. So you can still get 90 180 but we had to do updates to the other parts so that they work with 45 90 and instead of having 2 versions we will just have 1 ARC version that you can swap parts around to get the config you want. We tried to make the V1 upgradable to a V2 but unfortunately the changes needed for the 45 90 would have required all the parts to be replaced anyways. That said if you don't want a 45 90 or 45 180 and already have a V1 with mil spec style levers then there isn't a reason for you to upgrade to V2 if you only ever plan to use 90 180.

I bought them pre cut from Deez Nutz. AS Designs restocked a bunch of triggers in the last week or so, maybe a bit more. Looking at AS Designs' page, several models are in stock now.

There is a pic posted somewhere in this thread I think.  Barely round the back left radius of the trigger and mimic the cut on the right side that’s already relieved for you

You grind what is exposed on the rear of the trigger.

You seem to be very knowledgeable on these.
Do you have any idea why swapping to the milspec style safety levers would take a 100% working arc-fire and make it now unreliable, unable to make it through a whole mag without a dead trigger with a live round in the chamber.
I installed the new levers and did nothing else, absolutely nothing else has changed. I did not disassemble anything, just swapped out the levers.
I know the right side lever will have no effect, but the left side does have some control to the system.
I have two of these that are now unreliable after swapping to these selectors.
Both have G$ triggers cut by ASD.

I am going to reinstall the selector that came with it and see if it goes back to being functional.
However I am not sure if I will be able to test it this weekend. The winter apocalypse is coming to north Alabama this weekend.

Given you have to modify a G$ trigger for the Atrius, Cornfire, AND AS Designs, none of them are 100% drop-in to function...
Hell, the current iteration of the Cornfire claims to function with the G$ trigger and little to no mod (though several people seem to need to polish/stone the rear of the trigger).

I hear you on the lever being a possible weak point but I think with proper material selection that can be a non-issue.  I'm more concerned with the spring in the design keeping the levers in place!

If AS Design can fix things to work without needing a cut trigger and to function with many of the cassette style triggers, they'd be the go-to for nearly everyone.

Otherwise Partisan's LAT will likely take most of the market for those who don't need/want milspec style triggers.

Yes, the G$ needs to be modified, but you can buy a modified one right from the guys who make the ARC-Fire. The Cornfire is nice, but unpredictable, and people don't like taking Dremels to their 200 dollar triggers. I don't hate the Cornfire, far from it, but they slightly fumbled the MARC introduction by over promising. They initially claimed it would drop in with Larue MBT 2 stage triggers, as well as some Geisseles.

We'll see about the LAT. The Disruptor rollout was a bit of a cluster. I can't imagine the LAT will be cheaper than the Disruptor, whose MSRP is 300 bucks. And all that is assuming that the LAT's trigger pull is as good as one of the best semi auto triggers on the market... what if it's not? For the ARC-Fire, you essentially outsource the trigger pull quality to the best subcontractor on the planet, who can focus single-mindedly on that quality control. Can Partisan, a brand new company, consistently produce a trigger pull equal to a shop that's been in the business for years? Maybe. They had a non gun guy slip a dumb selector design into their first run of Disruptors.

the ARC has been drop in for most people when they use the provided trigger, you shouldn't need to modify anything and in 99% of cases, at most you will need to swap buffers just like on every other FRT. The ARC could have worked with uncut triggers but as i have said here before that version of arc wouldn't survive in platforms like the MPX or SCAR the durability simply isn't there on selector style FRTs that don't cut the trigger and it doesn't make any sense to essentially cut the lifespan of arc parts in half so people can drop it into a lower slightly faster. ASD isn't trying to take the entire FRT market by focusing on easy install or drop in as the primary selling point like everyone else, the primary goal was to make the best possible FRT we can make and i think we have.

I have no real interest in an FRT that doesn't require trigger modification, excluding the Kabuto/TURD style. The basic cut requirements make FRT's easily more reliable and durable, as well as adding the ability to cut most triggers to fit. The basic cut eliminates the overall finickyness that we've seen with the Atrius and Cornfire. Even the AZR requires some modification to work 100% properly with "mil-spec" parts.
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.

However much you hate the feds, it's not enough.

Just checked both rifles.
I can feel it start to push my finger almost exactly when the front of the bolt face is even with the mid point of the ejection port, and it is fully reset maybe another 1/4in or a tiny bit more rear travel. Both rifles were pretty much identical in this.

The rifles are also completely different builds.
One is a older DPMS 20 inch A2 style rifle. Standard fixed front sight base, rifle length stock/buffer tube, standard rifle buffer, tubbs flat wire buffer spring. Toolcraft FA BCG. It has a G2S trigger cut by ASD.
The other rifle is built on a spikes upper and lower. 16in mid length gas barrel, superlative arms piston kit, carbine buffer tube, H3 buffer, tubbs flat wire spring, SSA-E cut by ASD.

Gives significantly more room for a larger cam and lever, if you look at the levers side by side you can see how much more material you actually get.

That is very strange, would you say it feels like its working correctly in function checks like timing and reset feel wise? Normally if its a reset related issue it would start resetting way further back then the mid point. Also is this issue happening in both rifles after the selector swap or just one?

Yea doing a "bench test" it all feels great, just like it did before.
They will run, they just randomly stop part was through the mag, dead trigger. I can pull the charging handle back just enough to see the live round and recock the hammer, then it will run again till it happens again.
Sometimes only once in a mag, sometimes twice, and a then a couple times, it happened 3 times in one mag.
Using the same ammo as before when it was running great. Guns are clean, I clean and lube after each range trip.
It is happening in both rifles. I swapped them both over to the new selectors once I got them.

I'm going to put the old selectors back on the 20in rifle and retest and see if it goes back to running great.
If it does, then I know it is a selector issue, but if it still continues to have issues, then I will need to dig into diagnosing the rifle.
However it does not look like the weather is going to work with me this weekend......

A lot of discussion on cutting a G trigger for fitment.

What about the standard AR trigger? Do the ALG QMS/ACT triggers require modifications?

It comes with a mil spec shaped trigger shoe with Super Safety cuts. You supply the hammer/hammer spring, and the disconnector, disco spring, trigger spring. The trigger it comes with it nicely made. With a quality hammer, it makes for a very smooth, nice mil spec type trigger pull.

Any mil spec trigger can be installed if it has the super safety cuts made to the back of the trigger shoe.

Larue MBT 2 stage triggers, even with a super safety cut, do not work. The lever hits the hook which retains the disconnecter.

This would be the best thing. I would not think just changing the levers would affect anything unless it shifted the ARC left or right just enough to get things out of whack from where it was running or the new levers added a few thousands play to the system and it is shifting.

I couldn't get my arc fire to run with my geissele. Might need some tuning or maybe I overcut the radius? Not sure. I did swap another unmodified G trigger into the lower and tossed the atrius in with the arc fire lever block and it worked great yesterday.

I'm going to have a welder buddy build up the corner on the one G trigger and give it another try because I have 2 arc fire ambi set ups I want to get working.

The arc fire has a beefier lever than the atrius. But the arc fire uses a cam that rotates on the selector shaft which the lever trips that actuates the trigger. On the Atrius the cam that trips the trigger is the lever itself so in my mind the arc fire is probably going to be bit more durable.

Honestly I haven't put many rounds through either. I can't get the arc fire to work with my G trigger and the supplied trigger and a mil spec style hammer gave such an heavy and gritty pull I didn't even bother with it so that has the least amount of rds through it.

I'm not an enginerd so I don't really know. If people want to donate ammo I'll gladly shoot both till breakage.

Anyone have a link to the STL files for the Leber V2 / MP5 lower that will work with the Arc-Fire?  I can't find any with the right cutout, and would rather not modify the model if I can help it.

Thanks!

It appears that the ARC V2 is going to have a selector option compatible with the Leber v2

Find the right size countersunk screw  and countersink the levers if they are think enough.  A button head cap screw would look a slight bit better and not require machine work but it would still stick up.

Edited to add that I did some quick measuring and trying to put a flat head screw in may be problematic. The head diameter will probably run into the end of the ribbed for your pleasure thumb piece ( I have no idea what it's officially called). It would work but the countersink will but into where you don't want it.

Does anyone know how much past vertical the Arc-fire reset lever should/can go?

Looking at it I would guess the lever should never go below the plane of the fully cocked hammer and should always be higher than that.
Does that make sense?

Would it be the same when installed in a milspec ar15 lower vs a leber v2 on a AP5?

So if I’m reading this correctly, mechanically/reliability wise there is no difference between V1 and V2, the V2 just has the ability to be 45/90?

I have a V1 with a Geissele G2S and it’s absolutely amazing, the 90/180 doesn’t bother me. I guess I’ll stick to V1 for now. But the V2 would be cool for my A1 clone.

That said the mil spec trigger it came with was terrible even after polishing… Not sure what was up with that. The front of the trigger was getting chatter marks from the hammer sear which was weird. I eventually cut my own mil spec trigger and it was way smoother, but eventually just decided to jump to the pre cut geissele and haven’t looked back.

Speaking of your cut geissele triggers, any chance you will offer trigger cutting services? I have no problem potentially boogering up a $8 mil spec trigger. A $250 geissele not so much.

I have ordered one ARC-Fire v1 to try. If it works as anticipated, I will purchase at least 4 more of them immediately, and several more later. I'll probably end up with 10 total ARC-Fires, most of them v2s.

I learned my lesson with the Partisan Disruptor Triggers. We were assured: It's going be the best trigger ever with a good pull! And the best rollout ever! Plenty of triggers right away! No one is going to have to wait!

So, I bought 4 of them within minutes of the order links dropping on 12-15-25 just after midnight. I had to have been within the very first of the orders, even though the Battlehawk Armory site was so crappy that it kept losing my inputed info. It took me probably 15 or 20 minutes to fight through the site until my order was accepted, around, I believe 12:25 a.m. or so. My order confirmation email was received at 2:50 a.m. on 12-15.

Now, I must admit that Battlehawk Armory shipped quickly. I received my 4 triggers on 12-20-25. That was good. But the good ended then. All four of my triggers have defective, unsafe, safety selectors. They will not remain in my selected position. Simply brushing against the selector  is sufficient to move it. It will move forward toward the safe position or rearward toward FRT. I cannot trust it to remain in the fire position. Given this fact, I have not fired a single round from any of my AR15s with the Disruptor trigger.

A month has passed since Partisan Triggers realized their production error. I still have no new selectors. It appears as if faulty selectors are the rule rather than the exception in the 1st generation. We are told that a person changed the specs on the selector unbeknownst to the principals in the company. That raises the question of quality control.

Was Partisan's attitude: "Quality control? We don't need no stinking quality control." If a single selector had been checked, it is likely that the selector error would have been caught. They are that bad. And we all know that an appropriate, larger, sample size would definitely have caught their error. That would have held up distribution, pushing it back yet again, but we would likely have received triggers that worked. I would have considered that a good outcome.

Because I want to fire my weapons and do not trust the Disruptors, I am removing them and replacing them with other manufacturers offerings. I first removed the selectors to make room for new ones that have not yet arrived. I am now removing the triggers themselves. The Disruptors are going on my shelf. I hope that ARC-Fire will fulfill the role that the Disruptor did not. If so, I'll be probably be buying a number of the ARC-Fire v2 rather than the Partisan LMTs as I had planned.

Whatever the case, having been burned with the Disruptor rollout, I will not jump on the Partisan LMT rollout. If it proves to be a good trigger after time, I'll probably buy some, but not the dozen that I had planned. I only need so many FRTs. When I have enough FRTs for my hosts, I'll stop buying. If I have enough FRTs already when the LMT is dropped, then I won't buy any, except maybe a couple to shelve for later builds. I'm up in the air on that.

I know that Ben graciously volunteered to ensure that we get new workable selectors. But, he is injured and unable to fulfill that role in a timely manner. In my opinion, the duty to provide new selectors now returns to Partisan Triggers.

I am really upset more with myself than with Partisan Triggers. I have long operated under the principle that I never immediately buy the 1st generation of anything, be it bulldozers, dump trucks, excavators, cars, or, even triggers. I have seen that products often have poorly executed designs - or poor designs - that are corrected after a start. I broke my own rule and must now pay the penalty, which I am. Once burned and all that....

Ok, I swapped back on the original left side selector lever on my A2 and just gave it a try. I only did the left side as the right side can not really have any effect on it. All the control is on the left lever.
It is now back to running 100%. I just put 100 rounds through it. The first 10 were semi auto to verify function and safety check, then the other 90 of them were just mag dumps.
It mag dumped perfectly without a single hint of a issue.

So this pretty much confirms there is something going on with the new milspec levers. Something is not jiving between them and my arc-fires.
Not sure if it matters, but my arc-fires are part of the very first run. I pre ordered them as soon as the pre order went live.
So is it possible there has been a slight change between now and then?

Thanks for your support!

I'm a Christian so I try to avoid employing less-than-edifying  words.

Sadly, when I was typing that out, my mind was filled with worse.

I'm looking forward to my first ARC-Fire. Even though my garage is cold with the current weather, I'll install it Monday if I receive it as scheduled. I realize that weather might push the proposed delivery date back.

I am watching for a sale on Geissele triggers and will pick up a handful or so when available. Until then, I'll just run mil spec components in my FCG. I'm still looking forward to that.
