Finally ready to step up to an ACOP on my AR10.

So, on something along the lines of a TA11E (chevron) what color: Red, Amber, Green?

BTW, this rifle will punch paper, shoot Texas pigs (dusk & dawn) and possible SHTF

Thanks,,,

I've used red & amber both. IMO eye relief and reticle design matter way more than color.

Do tell.

I am leaning toward a chevron, but they also come with horseshoe, donut, and crosshairs.

I've owned three.

I absolutely hated the TA01 reticle. Too busy. Slow at close range. not very precise at 100-200. Did not really come into its own unless shooting at 300M or more.

The TA31 is faster. But the donut reticle is not very precise and the short eye relief sucks.

I really like the TA47-2. plenty of eye relief. Small. fast at close range using the triangle as a big dot sight. Prcise at 100M using the tip of the triangel as the aiming point.

My ideal acog would be something, small, 3X with a standard illuminated crosshair and lots of eye relief.

ACOGs are definately something you want to try before you buy.

I ended up with an amber chevron because that is what I found for a great price on the EE.  I am not disappointed.

I have two TA11s, one red and one green donut.
I took the TA11 due to the versatility, and personally, I prefer the red

I used to have a TA11E with a red chevron.  It was very nice but I eventually wanted more magnification.  I ended up swapping it for a NF 2.5-10x24 NXS am prefer this way more than the TA11.  Everyone is different but doing any kind of target shooting past 300-400 yards give me the magnification.  YMMV

I had a TA11 with a red donut, great optic, hated the donut.  Now I have a TA31 with a red horseshoe, l liked the TA11 more optically, but I like the horseshoe 100x more than the donut.

I think I'm going to try to split the difference with my next ACOG and get a TA33G-H.

Dont own one but I do shoot my brother-inlaws TA11 w/ the red chevron. It offers the best compromise to me and the basic principle of the top point being used at distance and bracketing the chevron for close in work is nice and fast. He used to have the standard reticle and this is a big improvment. THe straight reticle with dot used to be hard for me to pick up quickly.
I shoot the chevron just as accuratley at the 200 yard mark as I did the stright reticle.
