| Anyone know if someone plans on making an optic to take on ACOG head on? I don't see how Trijicon can justify the price. |
Others have tried, but ACOGs so far have few equals. The cost you speak of is easily justified, it's a very well engineered, manufactured and warrantied product, made in the US, these attributes are expensive. Your best bet is check on EE often, I often see used TA01s for $650 or so, it's not expensive at all, in view that the TA31ECOS (my next ACOG) is about $1500 ![]() I will IM you a TA01 I found at EE for $600 (not mine) |

The ACOG competitors and "wannabe" competitors are: Short Dot Spectre DR Elcan Aimpoint/EOTech w/ magnifier various IORs Meopta AccuPoint C/QT M/RT various low power Burris Of those, IMO, the closest competitors are the Short Dot and Spectre DR, which are both more expensive. The S&B has been reported to have long-term reliability issues (see EAG AARs). ETA: The TA11 is one hell of an optic, for someone who knows how to drive it. -z |
