Anybody know if anybody makes a 300 blackout barrel threaded 1/2"x28 instead of the usual 5/8" x 24?

Which Barrel?

Rem 700 is threaded in 5/8 - 24

AR15 is threaded in 5/8 - 24

Haha.. I guess it doesn't matter...

I need it for an AR.

My suppressor is threaded 1/2x28.  I know I could get an adapter for it, I would just rather find a barrel already threaded 1/2x28, but maybe they don't make them that way...

yeah, it's a 9mm suppressor.  I called Gentech, and they said it would be fine to use as long as I was using subsonic blackout rounds...

Send it off to a reputable shop like ADCO and have them turn it down. The threads shouldn't be cut so deep that a 1/2" wouldn't clean up completely then thread it to work. Call the barrel manufacturer and ask them how deep the threads are cut. Turning it down will also ensure concentricity.

I had my gunsmith make both of my barrels...I 'm sure you could get some one to builed your barrel how you want,
I use Kevin  at Ole's gunshop in Salem Or. you might check with them. 503-585-3889

5/8x24 minor is .574  so turning these threads down for .500 major or 1/2x28 should be easy.

I can do it - I thread all kinds of barrels. I also can make adapters, either custom ones - or a large run via CNC lathes.

Anyway, if you are interested, just PM me and let me know.
