I purchased a used M261 kit. When I was cleaning it before my first use I discovered that the end of the chamber adaptor was knicked up from being dropped. Fortunately I had a new spare from my 22 mag conversion.  It turns out that the new part had some metal displaced into the bore right where the bullet exits the chamber adaptor. I carefully reamed this out and polished this area with some emery cloth.

Anybody using a conversion kit should check this area of the chamber adaptor. It could have a huge impact on the accuracy of the unit. I was actually surprised at how well the rifle shot with iron sights. I was using a 12 twist c mp c bbl with a pristene bore.
