What's the difference between 20rd floor plates and 30rd floor plates?Is there any?

I am sorry let me clarify my question,,,,
Can you use a 30rd floor plate in a 20rd mag?
I  don't see a reason why not,you really don't need the mag spring retaining clip.Where would the spring go?

Maybe its the cleaning arummas

Yes, you can use a 30-round floorplate on a 20-round mag, and in fact, you're better off if you do.  The retention system on the 20-rounders sucked, as the little steel spring rusted and broke easily.  The 30s are much simpler and much more secure.

Thanks   That how I remembered,the springs always rusting,specially during all are beach recons
