Noob, first AR15, making it from 0%. lower is about completed, but I need something to decorate the mag well area.
I have been lurking here for a while, and you all inspired me to do this myself. I once saw a post with many ideas but cant find it anymore.(see noob) any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW 0% upper forgings should be here soon. Also, has anyone sucessfully home anodized their lower or upper?(pics) http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt78/kimblearms/155.jpg |

| I just got done with 3 TM 80% lowers that I home anodized using this http://www.focuser.com/atm/anodize/anodize.html kit. This guy is awsome, instructions are great and he ships super quick. I didn't upload any pics to my laptop and I'm on travel right now but when I get home I'll send you some. I did one in Red that I'm gunna match with a laminate AR15WOODSTOCKS set, one in OD green for my 6.8 and a Florecent Violet one for my wife too shoot. The process takes about 300 bucks plus a DC power supply to start up but It pay's for itself if you've got buddys with motorcycles or hotrods. My dirtbike's got so many custom parts I've paid for the kit about 10 times over, all my buddys got trick aluminum stuff on their bikes. If you have the capibility to do a 0% lower you'll be well invested in an anodizing kit. |
Pics of home anodizing would be great. I just finished making the stock look less like a golf club and more like a stock, and that will need anodizing. going to make a custom free float tube. 0% upper forgings just arrived in the mail
