So, I've been looking at sling options for a while. I got bored the other night, had some 550 cord laying around, and decided to try something out. Here is how it looks:
I pretty much followed the instructions for a paracord woven bracelet from the instructables website here: Paracord bracelet to make the two endpieces and sling itself. Here are a couple of in progress pics: 
My main "want" in a sling, is a good hasty sling. After measuring out the size I thought I needed and constructing it all, I found that my sling was just a hair too long to make a hasty sling out of it. Then I thought to my self, I can make it just a bit wider, and it should work. I went back to instructables and used a cobra stitch found here: Cobra stitch and it made the sling almost perfect for my use. Now that I did this, the sling works just how I wanted it to: 
I tried to sling it across my back, but found that in this configuration, it was too short to do so. I had a brainstorm. I've been wearing one of these bracelets for a while now, its time to try something: 
For those that noticed that I said it was ALMOST perfect, the only thing that I would change is the forward sling attatchment. When I sling the rifle, the clasp falls right on top of my shoulder. For anyone who might decide that they like this enough to try it out, I suggest you make the forward attatchment no more than 3 inches long, including the clasp. BTW I used approximately 70' in black, and 45' in OD. Edited to fix broken links |

Well, lets see, the cost breakdown is
100 ft of black 550 cord: 7.99 50 ft of green 550 cord: 3.99 2 buckles: 1.49 each, So I guess that puts this at about 16 bucks To do the black, it took me about two hours sittin and watching TV, then the green probably took me another hour. All in all, I think it was worth it, and who would have ever thought that it would feel so padded. I mean it is really comfy where i have the green. I have absolutely no plans of changing it any time soon, and if i do, it will only be to shorten the forward mounting spot by an inch or so. I love this creation o mine |

You could make single point slings that way too I'll bet.
I don't know if you've ever seen this website, but it has 1000s of buckles, straps, and hardware for making slings of all sorts. Their paracord is overpriced, but the other hardware seems inexpensive to me. I haven't shopped around much. http://www.strapworks.com/ Check this out, HK Snaps for $2.00

You know, I honestly wouldnt mind selling em, but I think that they would end up being to costly for this type of sling. You have to figure in 16 bucks(at least depending on length and type of buckles) for the sling, probably a few bucks for my time, then probably about 5 bucks for shipping. Easily looking at $30 dollars shipped. In all honesty, If someone were interested in something like this, I would not mind undertaking it, just PM me and we could take it from there. If any moderators are reading this and find it innappropriate I apologize and understand if it is removed. I did not come here to advertise, just to show off

Looks awesome 2W0X1 I took a picture but i dont think you can really get much out of it. i pretty much took cords 2 and 5 and double backed when i was about 6" from the end of the sling. then you just continue weaving over the doubled up cords. at the end with cords 1,3,4,6 i just looped them through the front sling mount and pulled them through some previous knots with a pair of needle nose pliers. it is a lot easier to see how to finish it off after you have started weaving it. BTW, cords 2 and 5 will determine the length of the sling the rest of the cords just get knotted over top of these two. good call on the HK snap and d rings, i will be doing that for my amd65 |

I've seen many of them detroyed in one transition drill. I've done it myself. |

You sir, have inspired me.
All my rifles had slings except for the one that probably matters the most –– my AR –– and now it has one. Boy is it COMFORTABLE! 
Thanks for the idea. I may go back and copy yours with the cobra stitch. It'd look prettier and be even more comfortable.

Looks like youi got yourself a business opportunity. Sell em, once you come up with a detachable method to attach the sling to the sling swivels. I would say more than a few people here would throw at least $50 at you for one of those.
Oh, and have you thought about getting a side swivel for your forward mount? Since you have the CTR in back, I figure it may make it a bit more comfy... |

And they say it looks like mine took a while to build!!I like your sling more. Nice clean lines. That other one in the link IMHO looks too much like the sling a granny would crochet for her AR. |
