I would like to make mine as close as possible to the real thing.   Could someone show me a 47 and 74 that they use?  thanks, Dave

I have one of those vertical grips, it looks just like the one in the second picture. I bought a Romanian lamenated stock set off ebay for my Maadi and it came with one. I've never used and probably never will.

Here's mine.  First AK I built. Both the kit and the Romanian stock set were from Interordnance.

The following picture is of a Romanian AKM/AIM:

These are of course not in use anymore as the Romanian military is currently using the AIMS-74 like shown above.

In the next photo, we see a drawn version of both the Romanian AKM/AIM and the Romanian AKMS/AIMS.

The Romanian AIMS is also most likely not used.

In this next photo, we see a Romanian soldier carrying a Romanian AKMS/AIMS, notice the much more vertical foregrip, and not the forward slanting one.

I'm curious....

K-Var sells the Romanian bakelite lower handguard with vertical grip.  I've never seen a pic of one in use, only the wood ones.

Anyone have any pics of the bakelite furniture in use by the Romanian military??

The Romanians really like those vertical grips!!!
