hey so I decided to venture over to the ak-47 side here. I currently have two ARs but am heavily considering buying an AK for the hell of it in case any sort of ban happens. So are they as hard to come by right now as the AR's are? And what would you suggest I look at (in terms of which AK specifically)? I definitely do not want to spend more then 600$ I dont know if thats realistic or not. Im not looking for anything crazy. Just simple and reliable. Thanks for any advice.

wasr for ~400 or get a saiga 7.62 (or223 if you want a .223 ak) for $300 and convert it to standard config.  Its not hard and you can search for and find the procedure online.   Saiga also makes 308 and 12ga guns so you can get an ak in any of those calibers if that gets your jollies off.

I dont understand what the standard config is? What is the difference between the romanian wasr and the standard AK? And ya It seems like there are some of those romanian ones out there. If its just aesthetically different I dont care what it looks like haha.
