| Hello, this is my first post here. I am having some problems with my trigger catching between rounds, so it forces me to manually nudge the trigger forward. Has anyone had this problem, and if so...was a new trigger the only/best solution? |

So, you pull the trigger and the gun fires; during the action cycling you are holding the trigger to the rear - and then when you remove pressure to the trigger to reset it - the disconnector is not releasing the hammer back to the trigger hook? (w/o you nudging it forward)? Maybe polishing up the interface between the disconnector and the middle of the hammer would help. |
| Look to see if their is a bright spot where the rear of the hammer spur is hitting the disconnector. If there is try slamming the hammer back while holding the trigger and see if this duplicates the problem. If so, remove some material from the spur until it quits happening. About .040" or .050" should do the trick. |
| Buy a semi automatic trigger set. If you put a full auto hammer into a semiauto gun you will get that result. If you look at the top of the hammer you will see that it has a notch that a semi auto hammer doesn't have. The notch catches on the disconnector and makes it stick. Buy a new one or file off the notch. Mixing parts will cause these problems every time. |

Thanks river_rat. I think there is a spot on the dissconector? I'll try your suggestion. I don't think it's a full-auto trigger, it's a US trigger for compliance. I didn't put it in. It's a Arsenal Ak-47 from K-var, and milled receiver from Firing Line. Thanks for your suggestions. |

There is no such thing as a full-auto trigger. The trigger is the same for semi and full. Only the hammer is really different. The disconnector has a spur that sticks out the back, as well, but this don't help much without a full-auto notch on the receiver. My first thought was that you had a weak trigger return spring. The trigger return spring is actually two pieces of the hammer spring which is a braided spring that should loop over the top rear of the trigger. If they aren't both over the trigger, sometimes you get weak return and the pressure of the disconnector is enough to keep the trigger back. Try checking that. If that doesn't work, you can increase the pressure of these springs by removing the hammer and bending the ends of the braided spring down gently. |

I meant to say that the HAMMER was the wrong one. I accidentally put an old AK trigger from a parts kit into my new US made trigger group and had the same problem. It would only fire once then I would have to push the trigger forward. Check your hammer. When I replaced my hammer with the correct semi auto hammer it worked great. I know from experience. I guess it could be something else but that was how I solved my problem. |
