Range report : USA AKM & SamcoYugo SKS Ammo wolf military classic 125 gr fmj. and monarch 124 gr fmj. Shot at 50 yards (without my glasses) AKM, first shot on paper low and left (no site tool yet, coming tomorrow) Three shot group low left about 3” Moved rear site up one notch, second 3 shot at 9:00 but on line with bull down to 2” Began correcting for windage manually. 100 rounds total, 80 wolf 20 monarch best group with wolf about 1.5” touching the bull Monarch printed a little higher 1-2” than the wolf Trigger is good for military type weapon, better than my FAL. Mag. Supplied with rifle and two promag plastic all worked flawlessly. The plastic mags had to have mold seams removed from lips to get them to fit in mag well. The one brown bakelite will not fit at all. No ftf or fte. SKS, first shot on paper very low left. Moved rear site up two notches. Three shot group low left about 3.5” Began correcting for windage manually. 40 rounds total 20 wolf military classic and 20 monarch. Saw no real difference between the wolf or monarch in the SKS best group 0.625” in green at 3:00 1” from bull (sometimes its better to be lucky than good) . Trigger just plain sucks started to get a cramp in my thumb at about 35 rounds from trying to squeeze the trigger smoothly but for $149 not bad. No ftf or fte. All in all good day at the range and satisfied with my two new toys. |
