Which one is best is a loaded question.They are all really about the same.A Sar! is a nice starter AK. Can be polished up to look real nice.But one out of the box and you shouldn't have to do anything to it is a SAM7, SLR101S , or a VEPR . Thoses rifles can be found in the $400-$600 range. The SAR1 can be found for $300-$400 . The SAR1 sometimes needs alittle TLC...The others are good to go out of the box.WD

limited by sights and ammunition, they all shoot about the same, with the ak-74 being a little more accurate than the ak-47 and akm and the .223 variants being a little more accurate than the ak-74.
the cheap end of the scale are the $300-$350 war's and sar's from romania. better, the milled receiver sa-m7 and m7s made in las vegas by arsenal inc. these sell for $500-$625 in my area. the vepr versions imported by robarms are also good quality in the $450-$650 price range. |
