I live in new york.Went to a local shop,they have a wasr10 with the gp prefix.No bayo lug or slant break but it did have a muzzle nut.NIB .I have read that the gp designates the newer ones with the preban features so now I am confused.

I believe GP means General Purpose.  

I don't know about it being anything to designate new imports, or no-ban status.

Does NY have it's own AWB?  Maybe that's why that rifle is missing 'the good stuff'?

If NY doesn't have an AWB, then that must be an older Ban Era rifle.

ya new york has its own ban.I knew it wouldn't have the good stuff on it.When I did a search to figure out what the GP was for thats they only answer I could find.So I thought I would ask myself
