I have a MAK-90.

And I'd like another AK type rifle.

The last gun show I was at, there were dozens of types of AK style rifles.

What should I look for? What should I avoid?

I got all excited over the price I saw on one in a sales flier, until you guys
pointed out that WASR-10 doesn't accept high capacity magazines.

There is a gun show coming up, and I want to come home with a new toy.

What would you get?

The WASR 10 and the newer ones all take hi cap mags...they were imported as single stack but the mag wells were opened up over here to accept the Hi caps. WASRs are not that bad, just make sure the sites are not canted to one side.....they have mostly fixed that problem...I own a lot of preban AKs and I just bought a new WASR in .223...it came with a G2 trigger group already installed. Its a good gun to fix up pretty cheaply.

I bought a WASR-10 yesterday and it was single stack. But I found an internet site where they described how to enlarge the well with a Dremel.

or a beanie baby.

If I were you, I would find something that strikes your fancy.
For me - it is ammo and mags.

But if it is another rifle you want - I'd try to find an under folder.

An under folder would be awesome, but I don't know enough about them
to know a good one from a bad one.

Any suggestions?

You might can get a SAR1 for cheap, better built romanian than the WASR and no more importing SAR1s

I hate to ask a really stupid question... but how can you tell an SAR1 from a WASR, or any other
make/model for that matter?

Not a stupid question.

The SAR-1 was built with a purpose built receiver to take military magazines, and will have a dimple on either side of the receiver above the mag well, just like your MAK-90 does.

The WASR-10's receiver does not have the mag well dimples.

It will also say on the reciever what make it is caliber etc.
