Recently I've noticed that when the bolt carrier slides over the top round in the magazine, it leaves 2 or 3 fairly deep gouges in the case and on the bullet. I haven't been able to shoot it recently, but in the past I've had problems with cases getting stuck in the chamber, I suspect this is related.
Here's a round for example. I inserted a full magazine, pulled the bolt back, then released the magazine before letting the bolt go back forward. I can catch my nail in the gouges.

I did a little investigating and found out which parts of the bolt and carrier are contacting the cases. I very lightly filed the corners and edges, but the problem still persists. What could cause this? I've heard that a light scratch on the cartridge is normal, but these are deep gouges that I can catch my fingernail in.
I found some brass dust on the areas indicated. I also lightly filed the same areas, but the problem still persists.

I have been told this is normal, I don't reload & shoot steel cased ammo so it is not a problem for me.
I have a few AKs that mark the cases like yours, & I have one that makes dents in the cases, but as long as it cycles without problem I'm not worried.
