I put a phantom supressor on my .308, I turned the threads out and pressed it on. I would have probably gotten away with just threading the barrell. But I didnt want to take a chance since I didnt even cut all of the threads out, I still have a little bit if the threads left in there, I did have to depen the hole. the barrell of the vepr is .75" long past the front site and the supressor was only .7" deep, So to avail an unsightly, and hard to clean, gap. I just cut the hole deeper, theres a couple of pics of it. In the pic thread above, and also at AKFORUM.NET in the VEPR/SAIGA forum. Another advantage is if I really wanted to I could pull the suppressor (I think, It's on there pretty tight) and have the gun in the original configuration....Not that i would want to, but if I did.
