I am working on some Romanian G kits using Nodakspud NDS-3 receivers with the pre-drilled trunnion holes. I have the trigger guards and the front trunnions riveted into place. On a couple of these the magazines won't close all the way. Should I just hand-file a bit on the back of the magwell/selector stop area to make them close all the way? Also, is there any problem with pressing the barrel back in before riveting the rear trunions into place? I was just thinking I could check the fit of the top cover that way, before riveting. Many thanks! |

You have to grind away some of the rear magwell opening as you said. You should be able to press the barrel in without the rear trunion as long as you are careful not to bend the back of the receiver when you press it. I used threaded rod to install my barrel, not a press. I installed the rear trunion last. Don't worry, as long as the trunions are installed correctly the top cover will fit. |
