How do you determine thread pitch?  I have a Norinco Hunter, evereyhting I read and everyone I talked to said it would 14mm.  Well....14 mm it ain't.  Neither right or left will work.  Any way for someone to tell what it actually is?

Most likely metric in either 1mm, .75mm or .5mm pitch.

Did you use caliper?  14mmx1mm LH is about .560 in diameter. There should be about 24 thread per inch.

Post a pic.....

If it's a ban rifle, the muzzle device may be soldered, welded, or blind pinned on. Or frozen up with carbon.

It ought to be 14mm x 1mm LH threads.

if I recall correctly the hunter came with a bare barrel, so any threading is going to be done after the fact.  So it could be anything.

But you can measure the OD and count threads in 1/2" (x2) for imperial, or count threads in a CM and /10.  Use a razor blade and count by feel.
