Guys, is there anything we need to offer or start building. We now offer cryllic marking and I'm working on a fake PBS can for the Krinkov. Would anybody be interested in Krinkov hat pins? Always feel free to offer suggestions.

Thanks,

Hello. Could you rebarrel a CZ 527 into 5.45x39? Sort of a poor man's SSG-82?
Link Posted: 11/10/2003 8:18:01 PM EDT
I was thinking of the same idea, but was going to have a 5.45 barrel done on my Savage 10FP tactical.

Might even do it as a switch barrel as it is already in .223

Could be interesting??

I am working on a 7.62x25 full auto. Sort of like the 7.62x25 bizon with the ppsh 43 stick mag. If it works out 9mm would be a piece of cake.

While you're here...

Can you answer the question that was debated earlier--

Some people say that if you have a reciever that was assembled into a form banned by the 1994 AWB, prior to 1994, but later disassembled, that you can (And they say you do) assemble weapons that violate the AWB on that reciever with whole new parts.

IOW, can you take a folding stock AK47 with bayonett lugs and a flash hider that was in that format in 1993, and then in 2003, disassemble it down to the reciever, throw away all the other parts, and assemble a new folding stock, AK type (maybe in a different caliber) on that same reciever with a brand new flash hider and a brand new folding stock?

I Say you can't and I quoted some AFT letters that agree with me, but others on this forum say once a pre-ban, always a pre-ban and you can do whatever you want with that reciever.

I'm asking specifically about AK, as its possible the AR is differnt (Being american made, while the AK parts are imported.)

I figure since your butt is on the line, you should know. IF someone shows up with a "pre-ban" reciever like that company in florida was advertising, you would build it into a pre-1994 ban configuration with a folding stock and flash hider, as tehy claim you can?

The answer might be worht making a sticky at the top...

First of all I hate B-west receivers! Second of all when it comes to AKs I follow the 1989 import restrictions. I have NO proof of when another item was made and in what configuration it was in. The average guy can probably get away with what ever but it's TOO gray for me. I also WILL NOT change out factory trunions or move another mfg's identification markings. (I'm wating on ATF response on this.)They claim we should know all these things and ignorance is not a defence.

US part 54r receiver, pistol grip stock and RSA trigger group, 7.62 dia 74-style brake on 22mm Romy pattern threads so it is removable for cleaning after shooting corrosive milsurp, paint over park finish. Guess I do need to buy one of those kits after all...

1. Dragunov would be nice.

2. Semi auto PPSH, SBR version

3. My latest fanasty (other than a few nude hours with Britney) Is a switch Barrelled SBR krink build on a milled receiver. Front ends in 7.62, 5.45, 5.56. Put some sort of latch under the front of the receiver (similar to the old Browning .22's) to hold the front half in place.

Hi.
How hard would that be? Is this something any decent 'smith could do, or could a non-smith do it?

how about a line of u.s. muzzle brakes. like a copy of the proper russian 74 brake but in 14mm or for the lazy people a slip fit with set screws like the old aa-ok brakes????

I read somewhere there was a polish drag.

Is this true?

Drags would be nice Troy. Maybe in .308 or 30'06.

Here is a pic of a few drags, dont know if they are polish or not, could be.

Link Posted: 11/11/2003 2:41:54 PM EDT
damn you rak, damn you to hell!

Dragunov would be fine, but what we (I) really need is a RPK in 7.62 for use with drums (I'll still take one in 5.45 though)!
Link Posted: 11/11/2003 2:46:26 PM EDT
Dude, you tryin to pawn some Puerto Rican Drags off on us as Polish? Your Dragjitsu is very weak, back to temple with you!

Troy,

.223 AKs that are quality
102 or 104 style gas blocks
Picatinny rail that an average joe can attach to his rifle
A RediMag type of thingy for the AK
Did I mention DRAGUNOVS???

How about a mod/design to adapt AR/Galil type sights to our favorite Commie designed weapon?

Any type of sight improvement would be good, IMO.
Link Posted: 11/11/2003 3:32:18 PM EDT
How about a US made Romi threaded FSB.
Link Posted: 11/11/2003 5:06:12 PM EDT
Hey, I'm agreeing with the Dragunov bit.

As an SOT or whatever, wouldn't you legally be allowed to import a Drag for R&D??

That should be able to get you a receiver to have mapped/cadded for reproduction, and then it's just a matter of importing the parts, and finding someone to build the requisite number of US-made parts...

What would it be on an INRANGE Drag? Receiver, FCG (3?), Gas Piston and Authentic-looking brake? There's the six!!

Ooohhh...magazines might be another sore point, but since real Drag magazines are what, 5-rd or 10-rd, maybe in addition to tooling up US-parts, you could also get some US-made mags (and magazines also count as 3 more parts!!)

Yeah, yeah, I know, easier said than done. But, our job is to say it - your job is to do it!
Link Posted: 11/11/2003 5:07:35 PM EDT
Oh, and hey, none of this .308 or .30-06 BULLCRAP.

It's a Dragunov. It's 7.62x54R, dammit.

Yeah a true to spec Ameican made reinforced RPK reciver.....

Or the 9mm AK would kick ass I would buy one for each hand..But pre-ban mags would be a problem....

I'm with that! Models for the Norinco and Polytech would be a must. Of course it has been done by none other than the dreaded Hesse. It would be a nice alternative, then again we AK folks would end up in the ever popular "AR mag debates"...(hey, it's alot cheaper than a homegrown Dragonov!)
Link Posted: 11/11/2003 6:16:28 PM EDT
9mm ak that takes sumio mags, or maybe sten mags. you could probably even use sten parts kits to make the mag well.

A bolt gun that takes ak mags, you could call it the BAAK (Bolt Action AK) build it on a large ring mauser action in both 7.62 and 5.54

A more economical foward mount like the ultimak, I have what I think to be a good idea but no means to produce it.

Barreled actions-- 47s and 74s just the reciever and barrel all done up and headspaced and all the major rivits. Unfinished to keep the cost low for us poor college kids :D

Heavy barreld AK, the Dark Sides answer to the HBAR. Make it a scope only, and avoid the side mount

Well that's all my ideas for now. I'm sure I'll think of more while procrastinating from the homework.

Hey rak,

I didn't know you have blue hair.
Link Posted: 11/12/2003 3:15:14 AM EDT
I dont, I Have purple hair.

I have a idea, something to do with m-11 uppers, there has to be something on the horizon. seeing as Mr. Wheatley has stopped selling and is now buying them back. I would love to see a affordable cool upper for them. Think about how many m-11's are out there. Now slap together a good quality/price wise upper and sell a boatload. I dunno, I dont build them, but I think it could be done for less than it is now and still make a good profit.

Someone was mentioning 9mm AK's, and someone already mentioned the Bizon...

A Bizon clone would kick quite a bit of ass, too.

I'd probably buy a couple of those, if you could make them authentic.

I'm sure there's got to be a plethora of pre-ban Bizon mags kicking around East Europe somewhere...

Modern Firearms - Bizon

It hit the scene in '93, and that's before the ban =)

9x18 Makarov and 7.62x25 Tokarev versions would kick some tail.
Link Posted: 11/12/2003 5:58:54 PM EDT
My vote is for a dragunov. You could make big bucks if you could pull that out. A bizon would be cool too. These are big projects! But if you could pull it off.... oh man. Thanks for asking though!

How about a copy of the Galil M-16 mag adapter, Saiga pistol grip/high cap conversions, and a thumbhole H&K looking stock for Saigas? I second the ideas for Suomi or grease gun mag AK conversions also-
Thanks
