The rear trunion has the little pushbutton for
the carrier return spring. How do I manage
to get the new receiver over the pushbutton
so it can go into the hole in the receiver? Or
do I remove the button?

You gotta screw the button out from the back side, its threaded.

Yeah. Look on the right side for the slotted head nut. I filed a goove in a screwdriver to fit these. They have been staked into place. So they're difficult to get off sometimes. When I reinstall mine I use Blue Loctite.
