I bought a stock from K-VAR and I have found that the cleaning kit does not come out without taking the buttplate off.  Has anyone else had this problem?  The cleaning kit tilts up and doesn't clear the hole.

I had the same experience with my SGL31 but, I'll admit I haven't spend the time to figure out a fix. IIRC there is a block in the stock that acts as a reinforcement that might have shifted or need to be relieved for clearance.

I've had the same problem with all of the K-Var stocks I've bought, but I fixed them.

There's a black block inside the stock that the sling swivel screws into.  There is a piece of plastic on each side of the stock that rests on top of that block and under the spring.

Take some sandpaper and scratch down the tops of the two plastic pieces, mostly on the end closest to you.  It shouldn't take longer than 15 minutes or so.

I have had several Kvar buttstocks, and all have released the cleaning kit properly. However, there is an thread on another site where others have reported this issue. so it is not uncommon. I beleive the others recommended tyhe same repair.

This worked great.  Thanks!
