I'd recommend getting a larger fixed mag, say a 20-rounder and not bothering with a detachable mag. Trying to release the mag is a major PITA on those since the SKS was never designed to have a detachable mag anyways. You'd be able to reload with stripper clips faster than you could reload a detachable, believe it or not. That's just how bad the mag change is.
