Lol honestly, i saw nothing practical what so ever in that video.

At 00:14, the guy would get a sight picture and then flinch and bring his head up.

Is that thing with the rifle secured behind the back and under the arms a way of moving a casualty?
I remember the TV show "Cops" did an episode in the late 80's in the Soviet Union. Other than some air raid sirens in the background (And AK's with laminate wood), the training course they showed was very identical. Fires and smoke, running along balance beams, climbing over walls, etc.

We'll I feel a little better about ever having to go to war with these guys.
I don't think I saw a single one of them actually use the sights.
Other than maybe as a "suggestion". |

I've seen that technique before, nice "dog and pony" show. I doubt a conscious person could be subdued so easily into a human shield. I have seen some great videos of Russians clearing rooms and such, this propaganda video is for those that don't know better. "Check out this super motto video video, FA and all!" |

Looks like they brought a bunch of pogues out to record some bullshit video. That was pretty much terrible all around.
Does seem to be more of a promotional video. None of them seem to actually be aiming, though there isn't much point to doing so with blanks.
Though using said blanks for those kind of obstacle courses seems to be good for training; after awhile, they could switch to live ammo with targets set up as they move instead of standing on the square range. But some of those techniques were a little... Human shields don't work very well with longarms.(Pun!) Less so when the person is able to fight back. |
Whatever bad habits they engrain with blanks, they will carry forward to live ammo. You fight like you train and you revert to your lowest level of training.
The Russians have always used "staged" videos to show a false reality as part of their propaganda. Making your enemy under estimate you is a most powerful weapon. I mean I could video a bunch of guys dressed in US army fatigues running around and call it a US army training exercise and upload it. Remember this is the interweb
Anyone notice the single shot AK being fired from the top of the vehicle ? |

I wasn't impressed with Russian SF when they were in Hungary.
They came with demonstrations and a show. they also had Hungarian versus Russian matches for martial arts and other stuff. My Sergeant was an experienced Judo champion but he never let anyone know..... Russkie came at him...what does he do...he kicks them in the balls....down goes the Russkie. Another comes ..and he punches them in the throat area....down he goes..... Fun to watch.....fascinating to laugh at also. |

I couldn't find the old video from years ago where they would fire and do forward somersaults, fire, somersault again... Anyone remember that one? Oldie but goodie.
Wow
I guess this goes with the russian style of fighting that says you just throw as many bodies into the fight as possible and hope the opposition gets tired of dying first. It looks like whoever planned this "exercise" has watched entirely too many Bruce Lee movies. |

So apparently a large part of their military doctrine for special forces involves using human shields.

Hey, they can train to be as "special" as they want. Keep at it guys.
