very different looking than other plum waffles i've seen.....from what i've been told by some other guys that know a lot of the history, they made a lot of different "experimental" mags for different projects....might be something like that since it doesnt look very familiar.

very cool though.....

Wheewww, I'm glad I quit collecting 5.45 mags last year. Selling my Izhmash RPK74 Bakelite mag still hurts though.

I'm not saying he doesn't own them, I was just questioning the cropped pic. All types of mags can be had for those in the know and willing to put up the ballz to get them. For all we know Doug probably got his from MK himself as he always comes up with the best stuff.

There's no end when it comes to collecting mags. At one time I thought I was doing well, but when you talk w/long time members and collectors like Tantal, Rayman, Akraider or Run the Drum etc, there are so many variations out there it will make your head spin.

Just as the member you referenced on the akforum, that mag thread was a wild ride of all sorts of speculation in regards of the time period or use etc, and most likely quite a few pm's trying to buy one, LOL...

Well, you sure haven't contributed much except to show off your magazines and prove someone wrong that you have them. No historical information, no questions about their use, nothing. Looks like a show-off thread to me.

Three of the most impressive mags I have seen in years. It is not very often a person can post pics of a mag that no one else has!!!!!!!

Great find. May I ask how you came uopn them?

Can you post more pics? Both sides? floorplate? Follower?

Any chance these a Pakistani? Have you checked the rear lug to make sure its not brass - although that wont prove anything if not?

Others may criticize you, but I'm going "OH MY GOD I WANT ONE"

These came from a good friend of mine. Where he found them I'll never know. The locking lug is steel not brass. These are Russian, not Pakistani. Tom, IM sent.

I was in no way trying to brag. I was looking for more info, if any exist. From what I have gathered they were produced in the mid-80's right around when the plum polymer came to mind for the Russians. All three of these mags have 120 scratched into them. I believe there are several different variations of these magzines in the ribbed/waffle variation in 5.45.

These are one of at least two varieties of early Russian plums before they switched over to slab sided. There are also channel-sided plums which look like the current 103 mag, but in 5.45.

Nice score, even for being so brutally demilled. Did they cut the rear lug in half?!

They are not demilled at all from what I can tell. I'll load up 30rds in it and hand cycle it to see if it works as it should.

They will hold rounds but the front part of the lips have been removed to render them non-functional, so that they could be sold on the civilian market. Not really a big deal, no one investing in one of these is going to ever use it...
