I am going to get another AK this week, My question is:
Are Vepr AKs worth the extra?

Figured I would ask the experts rather than have some gunshop commando try to blow smoke my way.

Went ahead and picked it up today, once again, thanks for your input.

VEPR in 5.45X39.
Going to take it out tomorrow, as it was to dark once I got home.

I certainly don't claim to be an expert, but have owned a variety of AKs (one Vepr, one SLR95, three Valmets, three Norincos). The fit and finish and overall quality of manufacture of the Vepr, while not in the same league as a Valmet or Galil, is noticably better than any other AK I have seen. I'm thoroughly pleased with mine in 5.45 and am thinking of getting another in 5.56. I don't think I would like it in 7.62 as they are heavy for an AK and I don't think a 7.62 would be accurate enough to justify the extra weight for me.

Thanks for the replies guys, there is a local dealer that has several and I figured I would pick one up.
Just wanted to be sure they were as good as they appear to be.
